QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q: Who is Talent Inc?
A: We are an established Calgary based talent agency that has been operating since 2000.

Q: Who is Rod McLeod and what is his involvement?
A: He is a well connected marketing and resource person who belongs to a group called The Officer's Club. Rod and members of the group have been in touch with Mr. Paul Gross and Whizbang Productions of Toronto.

Q: Are you Casting for roles in the movie?
A: Absolutely not!

We are taking a proactive role to identify and recruit local background actors and principal roster actors so that when a Casting Director is contracted by the production company, we will have an established list of people with an understanding of the military culture able to react quickly to the needs of the production company.

Q: Will there be speaking roles available?
A: Yes....but this is done at the discretion of the Casting Director. We have been told that there could be as many as 75 to 80 speaking roles in this movie.

Q: What does a Background Actor or Extra get paid?
A: Depending on the movie, the rate is normally between $8.50 to $9.00 for non-union and double that for union (ACTRA) members. People with special skills (SSE) can command a higher wage.

Q: Do you have to be in the union to get a speaking role?
A: No - although on union productions, a certain percentage must belong to ACTRA.

Q: How do I get a speaking role?
A: You must audition for the Casting Director. In order to qualify, you must have taken a course on auditioning then audition for an agency (such as Talent Inc). If accepted for the Principal Roster, we can then offer your services to the Casting Director of the movie.

Q: What is the rate of pay for a (Principal Roster) speaking part?
A: This is negotiated by us (on your behalf) and, depending upon the importance of the role, normally ranges between $500 and $1000 per day.

Q: When does casting begin for this movie?
A: Although it has yet to be announced, casting is normally done about 2 months prior to commencement of shooting which would indicate sometime in June.

Q: Are there any Audition Courses available prior to casting for this movie?
A: We recommend that you contact Mr. Peter Skagen at 4th Street Productions as he is tailoring courses for people with military experience to prepare them for speaking roles in this movie.

Q: What is the cost of this course?
A: You will have to contact Mr. Skagen as we are only recommending his services.

Q: Is this a guarantee of getting a speaking role?
A: No...but it will provide you the education and skills necessary to compete for a speaking role.
